EMMA HEIKENSTEN, PhD

ABOUT ME

Emma is a reseracher working on projects in behavioral and experimental economics. During her PhD studies she has spent two years affiliated with the Women and Public Policy Program at Harvard Kennedy School. At the time, she was also affiliated with the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard and the Center for Experimental Social Sciences at New York University.

 

Emma's research is focused on gender and diversity questions as well as household finance with respect to savings. In these project she has multiple collaborators outside of academia, for example in the fintech-industry. In addition, Emma has been involved in several projects with the purpose of improving experimental sciences that has resulted in over 2900 citations (by Nov 2018). Emma also runs a consulting business and gives talks on gender, diversity and how to optimize experimentation (i.e. AB-testing) of processes or products. Take a look at Heikensten Advisory! Last but not least, Emma is one of the think tankers at Ownershift, a politically independent think tank with the purpose of shifting societal power structures through ownership.
